This morning (2/15) at approximately 7:11 AM, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were called to a business in the 4600 block of E. Finance Way in Kingman reference a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was learned that a male subject, identified as Joe Michael White (62 of Kingman), left his place of employment after a verbal argument occurred.
Deputies were advised that as White left the property, he pulled a large knife from his vehicle and tried to instigate a fight with the employee who had escorted him off the premises. White then proceeded to stab a sign with the knife before leaving. White then phoned another male subject, identified as David Angel Duran (35 of Kingman), and advised that he was going to get a gun and come back and shoot the employee that walked him off the premises. Around that time, Duran allegedly advised White that Deputies were looking for him. The business was placed on lockdown due to the threats. White was later contacted and arrested for charges of criminal damage and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors, and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident.
After learning that Duran had advised White that Deputies were attempting to contact him, Duran was placed under arrest for hindering prosecution. A records check revealed Duran to have an outstanding warrant and was a prohibited possessor. A pat search was conducted, and Duran was found to have a 9mm magazine on his person. Deputies were informed that Duran had a backpack inside the business, and deputies located a loaded 9mm handgun, over 250 rounds of ammunition, and a large knife inside the bag. David Duran was additionally charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Prohibited Person, a felony. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility without incident.
