ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE/ WEAPON- GOLDEN VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating an attempted homicide/ aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that occurred on Thursday (9/5). At approximately 7:34 AM, Deputies were notified by ADOT employees that a male victim had been brought to them with multiple gunshot wounds and the victim was being transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center. Deputies responded to the scene of the shooting in the 2500 block of Naco Rd. in an attempt to locate the suspect, identified as Larry James Meyer (42 of Golden Valley).
After learning that Meyer had fled the scene after the shooting, Deputies and Detectives responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Eloy Rd. and began giving commands for Meyer to come out of the residence. Meyer was taken into custody without incident a short time later. During interviews, Meyer admitted to shooting the victim during a verbal altercation at the Naco property.
Larry James Meyer was arrested for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Possession of a Weapon by a Prohibited Person, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, all felonies, and an active arrest warrant. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman. The victim was later transported to a Las Vegas hospital and is listed in stable condition. This investigation is ongoing.
