On Saturday (2/8) at approximately 3:56 PM, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 8200 block of Green Valley Rd. in Mohave Valley in reference to a Welfare Check. Upon arrival, a male subject confronted Deputies, pointing a handgun in their direction, at which time a deputy fired at the subject. The subject was struck and ultimately surrendered. The subject was treated on scene and transported to a medical facility for additional treatment.

Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department have been called in to conduct the investigation into the officer involved shooting. It is standard protocol to have an outside agency investigate an officer-involved shooting incident. The involved deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation.

No deputies or civilians were injured during this incident. The investigation is ongoing, and the name of the deputy is not being released at this time. All media inquiries should be directed to the Lake Havasu City Police Department at (928) 855-1171.
