Grand Opening of the new Lake Havasu City Substation
Sheriff Doug Schuster is pleased to present our newest facility, a brand-new substation in Lake Havasu City. A grand opening ceremony was held on Thursday (2/13) at 10am, where Sheriff Schuster and his staff welcomed Elected Officials, Division Directors, and other first responder agencies for a tour of the new facility. The 12,000 square foot facility houses 15 offices, a large bay garage, and a training area. Funding for this new facility was provided by the State of Arizona, largely in part to the hard work of State Representative Leo Biasiucci, Supervisor Sonny Borelli (then State Senator), and former State Representative Regina Cobb. During the ceremony, Sheriff Schuster stated, “This is something that I take great pride in knowing happened during my administration. I joined the Sheriff’s Office back in 1989 and the prior substation was in bad shape back then. It was not ideal for law enforcement. We worked with what we had, but it was clear way back then that the building needed to be replaced. There’s been a lot of discussions over the last few years about replacing substations and I’m glad to see it finally came to fruition.” The new substation is located at 6534 Showplace Ave. in Lake Havasu City.
