Last Saturday of President’s Day weekend (2/15/2025), law enforcement officers from the Arizona Game and Fish Department, Bullhead City Police Department, Fort Mojave Police Department, and Bureau of Land Management combined forces in attempting to reduce off-road vehicle violations associated with large OHV group rides coming in from out of State. Local public land users had expressed concerns of such activity increasing over the last few weeks and natural resources were being impacted. The president of the Bullhead City UTV off-road vehicle group additionally helped us in our efforts.
Law Enforcement encountered/educated three large groups (25+ OHVs) assembling in the morning at the Avi Casino Resort on the requirements affiliated with operating group rides in Arizona while additional officers accumulated/staged in the Silver Creek and Boundary Cone areas. At least one of the out-of-State groups had diverted to Nevada. These are the law enforcement actions that occurred as a result of our patrol (all numbers are approximate):

- Fort Mojave Police Department set the stage for our successful operation, which also involved Avi Casino Resort security personnel.

- Bullhead City UTV assisted law enforcement agencies in explaining the OHV regulations/OHV opportunities.
- AZGFD made consistent traffic stops for off-road vehicles not in compliance with our Arizona laws.
