A 22-year-old man was hospitalized following a crash involving his motorized mini-bike and a car Monday evening.
The rider suffered serious injuries to his legs and arm and was airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital for further treatment, according to Bullhead City Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt. No other injuries were reported.
Emergency crews responded around 5:43 p.m. to the scene of the crash in the 500 block of Riviera Blvd, near the intersection with Riverview Drive. Investigating officers found that the mini-bike rider had been speeding and was unable to brake in time to avoid colliding with the car.
Fromelt confirmed that the rider will face citations for several violations, including no motorcycle endorsement, no current registration, no mandatory insurance, and speeding.
As a result of the investigation, Bullhead City Police rerouted eastbound traffic on Riviera Blvd. for about an hour and 45 minutes.
