At approximately 12:38 PM, 4/17, emergency crews responded to reports of a structure fire at 1515 Goldrush Road. Upon arrival, first responders encountered heavy smoke and active flames involving multiple recreational vehicles (RVs).
Responding units included Engines E721, E711, and E751; Medics M711, M712, and M751; Battalion Chief McCabe; Rehab Unit 719; and Fire Investigators F707 and F709. En route, crews reported heavy black smoke showing, and upon arrival, three RVs were found fully engulfed in fire. Battalion Chief McCabe assumed command and immediately directed an aggressive fire attack. Crews were able to contain the blaze to the immediate affected area, preventing further spread. Despite their swift efforts, a total of three RVs were destroyed, along with two vehicles.
Four additional nearby units sustained heat damage. One male individual was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC) for evaluation of possible smoke inhalation. Tragically, an elderly male was discovered deceased inside one of the severely damaged RVs. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist displaced or affected individuals. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire investigator
